Default 2 weeks in Oregon and Northern California ..

And where were all the S2000s??? I saw 3. One silver out by Rock Creek point near Cannon Beach. Another higly modified one in i think Redding or Modesto with a Mugen style hard top and a yellow one in San Francisco .... but in 2600 miles thatt's it. Have you all given up on driving / summer for the year

Honestly, its because the majority of us in CA own a daily car. If we are going to drive our s2k's, its probably going to be on the weekend, headed out to the track or going on mountain drives. You wont see too many driving on 680/880/580. You'd actually see more down in LA where the weather is nice all year around and the majority of owners are stance bois. The Norcal group is surprisingly tame when it comes to the stance scene. At least in my experience

Ha. I left SF via the 101 and took Route 1, a rollercoaster ride through the forests all the way up to where it rejoins the 101 Twas a weekend too - nothing lol. Been all over the place on the way back down and just nothing. Plenty of pickups ( Got a serious case of Pickup / V8 envy ) and one lone DeSoto in a retail park car park in Modesto but very little else.

Simply stunning place to drive through as was Yosemite / Tioga pass.

Only used major roads as last resort when we actually had to get somewhere without stopping every 2 miles to take pictures.

Honestly for this weekend i was a bit surprised too. I went down to Monterey for an Autocross event in my S2k, and not only was i the only S2k at the event (theres usually 2-3 others), but i didnt see a single one coming back up and even when me and my girlfriend stopped by in Capitola for dinner. I would have thought with how nice the weather is everyone would be doing the top down thing.

Every rental Mustang we saw had the roof up - ok it was 40 degrees in Yosemite at 7am ( and snowing / foggy at Crater lake - gotta love elevation to drop the temps ) but it was a healthy high 80s/ low 90s almost everywhere else. Can't see the point of a ragtop unless the top is down. We've seen a really good selection of what i'd call great driving roads.

Next time we'll do Seattle / Vancouver i think - and most likely in yet another Kia Sportage which is wasted on the roads but innoffensive / comfortable for lazy days sight seeing.

Weirdly ( or not ) saw a feck load of Honda Elements

Kinda cool to get a thrill seeing another S2K, even if more than a few were built. I still get a kick every time.

After almost 10 years of owning / driving, i can say that the S2000 is an itch i've well and truly scratched. Good photos above, looks like you say much of what we did!

While your out here I hope you hit up hwy 36 from 5 to the coast(or vice versa) and take hwy 4 and 108 plus 120 over the sierra's(108 is one of my favorites). Hit up locals for fun roads to hit. I did this before I went on my cross country drive, got lots of good tips for roads to hit up(to many in fack). Ask for scenic(slow) or/and fun(fast) roads to drive, then choose a few of each.
