i didn't read any of the above, but i'm sure someone already mentioned it, but here's how i see it.

i don't need any more than one person in my car, and there's always the jackass in the back seat with food who always spills something, so this takes care of the problem.

i don't enjoy being everyone's DD cuz i don't drink so the car takes care of that problem.

and if i have to drive more than one person around, it's usually two girls, and who wouldn't want them sitting on each other's lap??

i got sick and tired of cramming 6 people into my old car (integra) that's why i'm very happy with s2k.

rx8 was considered until it had 238? hp vs the states 250
and it gets 15-20 miles BEST from a 1.3 rotary.. WTF BS ? ( this is complaints from an rx-8 forum, m p g seems to be a major complain, 15-20 mpg on a 238 by 150 torque car?)

As someone who spent most of their vehicle owning years riding only motorbikes, having two seats is not a step backward.
