Some clarification: I wanted to see if it's possible, and not for an S2k.

The SR8 & the Yamaha is exactly what I'm looking for.. now to reproduce that with the S2k..
Hmmm... On one side you said it is not for the S2k, on the other side you said you want to do it with the S2k. So which one is it? Or do you really mean to reproduce that with the F20C instead of the S2k?

It would *not* go in an S2k. I hope I made this clear in the origional and clarified post.

A 9K RPM NA V8 has got to be appealing to people. With NA modification, getting 250 RWHP / each engine can be even better...

For what it's going to cost you to splice two of these engines together and make it work, why not just send Honda or Comptech a giant bag of money and ask them to make one of these for you? They've done it before and it should satisfy all your requirements.

Oooo, too cool!

Xviper, do you know what the specs are on this one, or have a link to same?

Thanks,
Steve R.

Sorry, I don't. I saw this in the Comptech factory when I was there. They let me take a picture of it. I think it was used in a race car. Perhaps someone else might have details.

What are the specs on that engine?
Anybody know if Mugen also offers this service?

That's an IRL engine from the late 90s. Juan Pablo Montoya won the Indy 500 in 2000 with a Comptech built engine, in fact. Back in 1999, Indy engines were available for around $82k I think. Of course, I'm sure you had to be an actual race team. Over 700hp, methanol only please.

(Most Comptech and IRL stuff I can find using Google say they were Oldsmobile Aurora engines. I don't know when Comptech started building Honda engines instead.)

Porsche did this in one of their indy car in the 70's or 80's. One boxer engine in the front and one in the rear. The car had terrible handling problem. It was in Excellence magazine, I forgot which issue.
