15,000 Mile Service Today. Should I Change...
Going in today for a 15,000 service. I'll get a Mobil1 oil change and filter. Has anyone changed their tranny fluid or rear end oil at this stage?

I just did my tranny and diff the last two days.
at 4500 miles
The diff was dark grey so it probably was due by 5000 miles.
The tranny looks almost like brand new motor oil so i guess i changed it a bit early.
But it's the first change so probably was good to get the stuff out.
I hear less noises from the rear end.
I think next change i'll do at 10000 miles.
Since it will probably be two years for me to put that much mileage on.
I overfill the diff. by about 100cc.
And tranny overfill about 150cc.
Can't be too close since some leaked out from the tube.
The original diff. and tranny fluid has been in there a little over a yr.

I won't argue the manual specs but MANY have found that changing the tranny fluid more often (6k for me) will maintain a better shift feel. Also it allows some to make changes since some of the brands/products perform different based on the outside temps.
As far as the diff goes just change it You wont be sorry you did once you see what black gunk and sludge you have in there.
