I've never been into Road/Course racing. For me it's always been drag. My last car was a Supercharged 13 second Integra. Hence the name "GS-Raw" That car was one of, if not the most exciting cars I've ever driven. One might think,

I didn't mean to flame you or anythiing. Everyone knows that I am one of the main people on this forum who complain about the lack of torque, but at the same time, I still love my car. I like spirited driving on the road and take the car up to 100 MPH all the time, but I never ever do clutch drops. It's just not worth it to me. However, I VETC every single time I'm in the car whenever I have the opportunity.
Personally I think that you should go out and buy a CRX Si and mod it and take it to the drag strip. Save your S2000 and keep it nice and stock. It's a keeper.

What's your goal, exactly? You said your GS-R was a 13-second car, but didn't specify if those runs were low, mid, or high 13s. Most people I talk to who go to Sears Point are never happy with their times. I would suggest you go to Sacramento Raceway, but you know how the summer weather is in Sac.
I just realized you only posted the results of one run. If this was your first and only run in the S2000, I think you just need more practice.

Drag , Track(Solocross, Solo1) is the same beating... if you are running 1/4(drag) your searching for the best time ... and if your running on the track(solocross, Solo1) your searching for your best lap time.
Same beating if not more.

I disagree that road course racing puts the "same beating" on an S2000 as drag racing. Wear items such as brakes, tires, etc. need to be replaced because they are "worn" not because they were abused. How many clutch replacements happen in the pits? One thing I do step back from is this common misconception that the Honda needs to have the living snot beat out of it to post a decent 1/4-mile time. Nonsense. Well, it might need this type of launch from someone who has little or no experience doing this type of thing but I find the car no more trouble to launch than my '99 SVT Lightning. And one more thing...a VTEC dump might be required in some conditions but the surface of the track (or road) also determines where you can launch from rpm-wise. There are some places where a softer launch will net you a better time than one begun at 7K.
