I don't know. I did not ask. But it may. Is that not what the NHRA guys do between races

Also, the owner does post on S2ki.com

Yeah; that's why I asked.

Probably it doesn't, but I would bet the total time between overhauls is measured in hours rather than years.

the factory cams, wont make any power after about 9300RPM. so theres really no point and pushing the motor to 10k. now with IRL valve train and some hytech cams 10k is certainly doable.

if you really want some wicked NA power, get EMS/cams/itbs/header/exhuast. there are a few guys make around 270whp with the stock displacement.

I have heard that the first thing to fail would be the valves, and other valve related parts. Such as springs and retainers and guides.

And like most everyone here is saying, It won't make power way up there without alot of mods. In stock form the engine slows down at around 8900 and even if you slap on every bolt on known to man. The cams will only go so far.

It can definately be done. JDM ppl do it all the time. Ever heard of battles at 10k rpms? Someone did blow their S up in one of those. But they were revving it. If the f22 has more deck height then you could use an f22 block with an f20c crank to get a better rod/stroke and that would allow the bottom end to spin faster safely. As for everyone who says the f20c doesn't make power past 9krpms they're not using their heads. The power drops off after about 8300 rpms on stock cams. So even with a stock motor you still want cams to make it breathe better. IF the f22c doesn't have more deck height then there's ways to raise the deck height of your block . I'm pretty sure the S has about a 1.81 rod/stroke. F1 motors are at 2.4 and they rev to 18k rpms.

in this situation i would rather go with turbo than 10k rpm. drop the cr and slap the turbo in. with proper tuning you will be very happy as long as your tires are sticking to the ground.

If it was only pushing 350hp then it definately wasn't rebuilt every pass. You only rebuild every pass when you're running str8 nitro methane making 6000+ hp. At the most he might replace the clutch every pass. But i seriously doubt it.

Why not rev to 10k rpms with boost? More rpm means your motor can move more air, n/a or boost it make a big difference either way. The power band would be great with a gt42r.
