Not close to you guys; my 09 Rio Yellow has 40K on it. Had it just over a year, got it with 31K one owner. It looks like a brand new car, was from PHX. Not my daily but my work just takes me to the airport a couple times a month.

Glad to hear of no problems, no oil burn, all that stuff. Sometime reading these forums you begin to think that your S is going to have some problem any moment now. Anybody had any TCT issues? Any rear bearing issues/ tightened up axle bolt? How are the soft tops holding up? Have you done any valve adjustments and / or spark plug replacements?

Thanks

No soft top issues, No tct issues, valve adjustments every couple of years, regular fluid changes....the soft top, I got the Modfry straps but they are very tired now, so I help the top down past the first fold and see no tears. this is my second top, vandalized many years ago. Its a great car, and for me when my kids were smaller the most affordable roadster this side of a Miata (which I had two of or a Mustang GT which I also had two of) it still is most affordable and that's what makes it such a rich ownership experience along with being able to do the work myself (car only went to dealer for 1st oil change and air pump defective years ago).

If memory serves (I haven't checked the manual recently on this) but I believe the first valve adjustment should be done at 100,000 K miles.
Same for spark plugs! Ridiculous!
All you need to do really is replace oil and oil filter regularly, diff and tranny fluid every 1-2 years, brake/clutch fluid every 3 years and coolant at 10 years (I just replaced mine for the first time with no issues).
Wear and tear items (Tires, brake pads) as needed.
The soft top is very durable if you keep your car in the shade and use 303 protectant. Mine still looks like new!
This is really an amazing little car; Fun to drive, to maintain, to look at, to customize.
Some sports car aficionados want to argue about "pedigree". JEEZZ man, Honda -as a brand- has Indy and F1 victories and championships, what more "pedigree" do you want?
This is a somewhat underappreciated sports car, and frankly, I could not care less...
Cheers,
Daniel

dangarza....That's a long time on the clutch/brake fluid. You might want to make that an annual ( or sooner) change.

FWIW....I use the "turkey baster" method the same time as an oil change.Never gets dirty.

Thanks for the input. I did the Modfry straps, I use Raggtopp. I have changed all the fluid/filters and stuff (except coolant) more than suggested. I also use the turkey baster method. I also went with the Fumoto oil case valve. That thing works great! I can change the oil w/o going under the car. All done with the hood open. (Yes you have to slide something to catch the old oil underneath) However, I have not done a valve adjustment; the engine seems perfect to me, I get 26-28 mpg and one time got 34 slow driving the Tioga Pass at 30mph. I have not done a compression test. It seems people have not waited for 100,000K miles to do the valves. Have you done the valve adjustments using a DIY?

Turkey baster is a good idea, I use a large 30cc syringe with IV tubing.
I don't have the manual right here with me at the moment but if I'm not mistaken that's what the manual calls for; brake/clutch fluid replacement every 3 years with Honda DOT 3 fluid.
I live in a relatively dry climate and the car is a "garage queen" so I feel that is adequate coverage but I would not argue with anyone about replacing those fluids more often, especially if you autocross/track your car... I never do.
Cheers,

The car ran fine on the 10year old plugs and with only one adjustment in 30k miles. I just know it so well that these things done at 10 years make it run like new again. Did the valve adjustment easily with the all in one tool , I searched here and found what I needed as a DIY. I bought a new gasket but the original one worked again, I know.....but no leaks!!!

Adjustment took a couple of hours to do it right, that also meant taking off that large airbox so I could better access the crank to turn the engine.

Only problem I had was connecting the two hoses up backwards on that little box for the air pump, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, I had to remove the wire to the mass air thing so I would reset engine, took 30 minutes of run time and the light went out.

What is so amazing is three things.....over all enjoyment of this car, lack of cost compared to other simular cars in upkeep and maintenance for the performance factor provided, and no problems in 10 years of ownership with me doing 98% of the upkeep in my garage!!!

Again, I simply help the first bar on the top when folding it down and have had no issues, as the Modfry straps get tired eventually just like the stock ones.
