I did a search and COULD NOT find what I'm looking for. My question is this. Has anyone ever Drag raced the 1320 using the 4.77 gears? I'm contemplating a gear set but I'm stuck between 4.44's and 4.77's. The highway rpm

Stay tuned. While it won't be a 1/4 mile run, we'll be getting some video footage of a 4.77 vs. stock S2000 in a couple of drags soon.

Relax guys, no time or date has been set yet for this to go down, but we're working on it! Hopefully in the next 2 weeks.

You might be better off going with the 4.44 I have read numerous threads talking about this same subject. The general idea was that with the 4.77 you will have an extra shift. And the time that it takes to make that extra shift, no matter how fast you are, negates the benefits of the 4.77 because you are shifting more often.

well, Let me TRY to figure this out for you. No promises.

Gear Max Speed in that gear (9000RPMs)

1st 37.1 MPH

2nd 56.8 MPH

3rd 78.4 MPH

4th 100 MPH

5th 119.7 MPH

6th 143.3 MPH

I don't know if this is correct, but I think it's close. All numbers are with a 4.77 Final Gear. I hope this helps at least a little. I would say that you would definately have a extra shift. Go with the 4.44s. Good luck with your gears.
