I am looking for a good source for aftermarket parts for my 05 s2k. Seems Most vendors deal in AP1 parts or they say 00+ parts when clearly the photo is of an AP1 vehicle.

I would like a front bumper or front lip for my ride to give it a more aggressive look, but this is one of the major cosmetic changes to the new rides. I don't think a lot of these 00+ or all years front facia will fit my car.

Also I am very nervous about performance upgrades when clearly the engine has changed in 04 with the F22C 2.2L.

I am not a previous s2k owner. This baby is my first, so I am a newbie, but in spending time on this forum and checking out the sponsor sites, there appears to be a clear issue wit the AP1 and AP2. WHo can I trust for proper compatability??

 

aftermarket bumpers will fit both ap1 and ap2. aftermarket lips are different story.
everything else like performance parts would work with both ap1 and ap2.

 

As far as I know, the picture listing is sort of "an idea" I guess you can call it. I mean if a vendor says they have 01+ parts and show only an ap1 .. doesnt mean they dont have parts that fit an ap2. At times they just stick a picture of one they already have.

There are a lot of ap2 parts out there. If im not mistaken, cosmetically ap1 and ap2 are pretty much identical when it comes to fitment. Maybe you have to do a little, but ive seen ap1 owners with ap2 front OEM bumpers converted on to them.

only lips that fit the ap2 are oem and mugen i belive. mastergrade also makes a CF lip for the ap2 bumper if thats what your looking for. all other lips that are made for ap1 won't work on ap2's w/o modification.

all sideskirts should be interchangeable and nothing for the rears that i know of.

if you are looking for full bumper stuff they will work w/ minor mods.

The pic of your car shows the OEM front lip, but looks more agressive than the factory option. I like a lot of front bumpers, but can't decide. I think just the OEM lip will due. Not into anything crazy. I like the clean look.

 

I had both the CF Mastergrade Lip and OEM lip now. The OEM lip is by far the better and the best option out there IMO. Asked about your location because my sis-in law is named LYDA and she only knows of one other person with that name
