Hey, So I have an 07 with 11k on it and has no noticeable tears on the soft top. And after reading this whole thread I"m still a bit confused as to what to do with it. Can Honda do anything to prevent the tear from happening? Or should I be filling it like Zoomkat did (does this void warranty?). Or should I just wait for a tear to happen and take it to a dealership? Thanks a bunch and I apologise if this a newbie question.

Going to my closest dealership (2 hrs away) tomorrow or friday to have some pictures taken. This dealer replaced my top previously from what i THOUGHT was vandalism, but it was a wear hole then in the exact same spot for the common problem. I paid my insurance for the last one so they didnt pay anything. Hopefully this one will be covered 100%. Will update when i know

i took my car into the local dealership and had them look at it. the service maanger confirmed that burrs were present and he said they will replace my top
i just have to follow up with them next week to see if they got the parts in.

Glad to hear of the positive feedback! If you have the same problem with an 02-03-04 please call the Honda NA or Cananda customer service line. The more reports they have of failures the more hope we have of something being done about it.
