Newbie here, wow this forum is great!
So I have an 08, with no noticeable tears yet in the top (but, I only have about 14,000 miles so far.
Should I wait till the car is almost out of warranty to take it in for the TSB? Or just do it now?

So how does a TSB cover a car indefinitely, long after it is out of warranty? Does this mean Honda will replace our tops more than once if the wear holes appear again?

Everyone seems to recommend that we have the TSB done before the top actually tears. If its torn due to the same problems, they don't cover it? And hypothetically speaking, if the top was torn somewhere else for whatever reason (vandalism, normal wear, etc.), will they still service it?

The top bar elastic straps was the issue for for me. The top was brand new so it wasn't a strap wear issue. As the top was lowered the roof frame support bar (first one right above your head) wasn't being pulled back into the proper position and the windshield clamps were tearing through the top when I lowered it. I ripped through two tops before figuring out the cause. Honda replaced both tops 100% without an argument. Now whenever I lower the top, I use my hand and push the support bar back into the proper position before lowering it completely.
