I can only imagine its 05 and newer because of age. 04 and older are 5 years old or more, and Honda doesn't want to give free tops to everyone. Still, when it comes time for a new top, I wonder if Honda would gratis any of the frame work on an older S.

I just found the burrs on the frame last weekend and the thin spot in the top where the frame has been rubbing. I took a file and filed it down nice and smooth and took the cloth side of some velcro and put it on the top at the rubbing spot. Seems like it should do the trick. Figures I file it off just days before I see this post. Oh well.

As posted in the "Tell Honda" thread, I took mine in. Turns out I still had a few weeks left on my warranty, and they are replacing my top free of charge. But the rep had been very optimistic about the replacement being covered under good faith even before finding out it was under warranty. Make appointments to have your tops inspected and photographed for the district managers, folks. Even if they only offer to cover part of it, it's still a lot cheaper than paying for a complete top yourself.

I don't think the TSB covers the whole problem, though. My roof developed holes from the hard plastic bits near the top rear of the side windows. Fabric should be reinforced where the edges of those plastic pieces rub.
try putting the top down and take a look at where the folds are in respect to the ends of that bar. Then put the top down again, but this time push that overhead bar back by hand, you will see what I am talking about.

Newbie here, wow this forum is great!
So I have an 08, with no noticeable tears yet in the top (but, I only have about 14,000 miles so far.
Should I wait till the car is almost out of warranty to take it in for the TSB? Or just do it now?
