Well, I'm a little pissed. I took my '01 in for the clutch grind repair, and the dealership refused to repair it saying that the clutch grind is only on the 2000 models. Has anyone out there gotten this fixed in their '01?

If your transmission grinds or the clutch is a problem the dealership should work with your to fix the car, probably under warranty, regardless of year.
If you took the car in without either demonstrating a problem or documented incidents of a problem, I can see them being reluctant to do work.
I would not worry about what model year car you have.. if it does not perform properly, insist it is fixed.

Everyone talks of this clutch grind between first and second, is it an Actual hard grind like if you weren't using the clutch at all or is it a feeling of tension that you feel in the shift know when going from 1st to 2nd or other gears.

It's actually both. On hard accelerations, it will grind like the clutch is not in all the way. On normal acceleration, sometimes I can feel some resistance going into 2nd.

When I shift, it just doesn't feel like perfection with no resistance, but I don't hear any noises either. It just feels like there is some kind of slight rubbing on my hand touching the shift knob. Maybe I'm just paranoid. How can I know for sure????

Are you experiencing the notchy feeling that has been discussed quite ofter here? My 01 is a little notchy I questioned my dealer and he said it was normal, I don't know if there is a good fix for it, that is probably what he is telling me. Then again how many miles are on you car, mine seems to be getting less of a problem but then again I might just be getting used to it.
