00's and 01's trannies?????

I recently purchased a 2001 S2K. It had 22K miles when I bought it. I have 24,500 miles now. The car has not had any TSB's or other work done to it. The original owner never had any problems and did routine maintenance. An older couple owned the car and it was also garage kept.
Only thing I've noticed is that when the car is still cold it's hard to shift into some of the gears (most noticeably second). Also, the car doesn't like to be shifted into the other gears (most noticeably second) at low speeds and RPMs (<4000). But once the car is warmed up, it shifts easily and smoothly, especially the faster I go or when I shift at higher RPM's (4500>).
I have noticed some "vibration" or noise when decelerating. And there have been a few times when in first gear and slow speeds, the car has made a loud vibrating noise, but I haven't noticed any problems, and from what I can tell, this is fairly normal.
The clutch "buzz" or "chatter" is also normal. Mine has a "creaky" or "crunchy" feel to it. But it works perfectly fine and is also fairly common in the S2K.
I recently purchased an extended warranty for my own piece of mind in case some problems surface down the road. I plan on keeping this car for a while, and I will keep up all maintenance, but I don't want to get screwed by a fault from the manufacturer that surfaces later or could have been prevented had one of the TSB's been done.
From what I've researched, the TSB's are to be done under the regular factory warranty. Once it's out of warranty, the Honda dealer does not have to do the TSB's free of charge. So having a warranty to protect for any problems is my own personal insurance. For more info on what TSB's there are for your car be sure to check out Edmund's.
I originally wanted an 02' model, and I almost traded mine in for an 02' that I found at a dealership. Unfortunately, the 02' had many scratches (some deep), it had been smoked in, had stains inside, the front bumper had been replaced/painted, the tail pipe tips were missing and there was some damage from parking too close to curbs, etc.
Mechanically, it was sound. It only had 5,500 miles and was still under warranty. But mine was in such better shape that I couldn't see paying the extra money for a car that had not been as well cared for.
So unless I find a steal of a deal on an 02' or 03', I'll be keeping my 01'.
Knock on wood...no problems with it.

I had an 02 shipped to IL from carmax. The one in schaumburg. Its a Silver/black.
Mechanically perfect.
I did not take it, however they want 25,500 and it has 14,000 miles the car is in good shape. You can have them shipped for 450$ and it goes towards your down payment.

For anyone looking at buying a used car--definately take a look at consumer reports--when I bought my s2000, I wanted a newer model, like an 01, but the 00 had a higher rating. In fact I cant remember exactly what was wrong with the 01, but consumers had something like the electrical listed as below average. I can take a look when I get home from work if I remember. But the problem, as already mentioned by others, is that with any used car you dont know how the previous owner drove it. And with s2000's there is a good chance that someone drove the hell out of it regardless. I bought from a private seller when I bought mine--because I didnt have the money to get one from carmax. But if I had the money I would probably buy from carmax just because they actually inspect the car. Thats just my 2cents.
