00-03 vs 04+

I agree with spider, I was expecting understeer (as read in numerous articles) with my new 05 but found that it has more of a tendancy to oversteer.

I have yet to hit vtec as I only have 200 miles on the car but I've taklen a few corners too fast to test the understeer statments and I must say that when taking a corner 10 mph too fast with no throtle imput, the ass slides out nicly and predictably on the corner exit.

Note: my brand new tires may have something to do with this but since the fronts are as new as the rears I kind of doubt it.

I test drove an 03 a week before bying my 05 and the one thing I will say is that the steering was more precise and responsive. This is not to say that the steering on the 05 is slopy and slugish, just that it is a bit slower.

My previous car was a 1989 Toyota Celica GT which I had driven for 15 years. It would understeer pretty easily, although I did not drive it hard at all.

It may well be that the '04 oversteers less than the previous versions, but mine certainly oversteers quite easily.

I have an 02 with the new wheels/tires and it's perfect... Super tight steering with an outstandingly predictable rear end...

That's it, I'm done-TGIF
