0-60... what is realistic?

And yeah, as long as you're launching right, dumping the clutch and NOT riding it at all, the clutch and car can handle the beating. More often than not, it's driver error when parts get damaged when launching a stock S2000.
I beat the SNOT out of my first S2k (sold cuz the ex-fiance whore made me sell it). I ran that thing probably over 100 runs at the drag strip, as well as countless street light races and stop ilght races. I drove that thing HARD for 35k miles and never had a single problem.

I have NEVER launched over 6000rpm. And in fact, last year I was banging out 14.0 times doing 4500rpm drops, and I was getting TOO MUCH wheelspin.
For the record, I launch between 4000-6000rpm. I got a 13.9 once on a 4000rpm dump during the month of may on a roughly 60's degree day.

so, are the Sport Compact Car drivers that bad? it always seemed that they knew what they we're talking about... perhaps they don't do clutch dumps???

All I can say is I test drove an S2K when I had my WRX (non-sti), and the speedo didn't climb as fast as the WRX on a heavy clutch slip/dump. Gotta admit, the S2K was more exhilarating (sp?) though. Kinda reminded me of my 97 Prelude. That car wasn't very fast, but it sure felt like it, and to me that was all that mattered.
Today I drive a Subaru Legacy GT turbo. I might get to drive the S2000 that my coworker bought yesterday. I'll review the speed differences if that occurs

I did over 15 runs on a 95+ degree day in my S and never had any clutch slippage (of course, my fastest run was a 14.3... but what can I say? I suck at drag racing). I was dumping the clutch between 4 & 5K RPMs. I don't know what the SCC guys are talking about, though.
