Wisconsin S2k and XViper - I haven't had enough practice since the SC install to be able to launch the car well. A 5k clutch drop now fries the rear tires and sends the revs almost instantly to redline - as you guys well know, it's not at all like launching a stock S2000. To moderate the spin, do you guys drop at lower revs, or modulate the throttle after the drop? I've been trying to modulate the throttle, but it ain't easy. Any tips or suggestions?

The amount of torque at 5K rpm on a supercharged car is not really all that much higher than a stock car as the boost is only beginning to contribute added torque and HP to offset parasitic drag of the blower. It's only if you give it too much gas at the moment of clutch drop, that you get into rpms where torque and HP outpower the tires. If you were to hold the rpm at 5K rpm and did nothing with your gas foot and just dropped the clutch, you will still bog. Either consciously or subconscously, you ARE giving it gas at the moment the clutch gets released.

Amazingly, I remember a Road and Track issue that compared the S2000, it was an AP1, to a bunch of cars. NSX, Boxster, 911TT, Vette.....
They actually listed the 0-60 at 4.9.
I'd love to meet the guy who pulled that off.

Driving an S2000 on a Road course or auto X is like screwing a $$$$$$ star.
Racing an S2000 at the drag strip is like screwing a fat chick.
You're really just doing something your equipment wasn't designed to do.
Go buy a mustang.
If you get your panties in a bunch over this than you clearly missed the humor.
Simple point is a day of Auto X is 10 fold more rewarding than a day at the drag strip in the S2000. The car loves it more, you become a better driver, and you spend less time getting walked by 89 rusted out fox body mustangs and redneck teenagers in SRT 4's.
Real men turn the wheel left and right, use all three pedals, row the shifter, all at the same time.

i dont need someone to tell me what is and isn't fun to do with my car. I enjoy both track racing and straightline drag racing. both are fun to me, and both are rewarding in their own ways.
you say "if you get your panties in a bunch" but then you continue on your rant and say some pretty back-handed statements. pardon if i lose respect for someone who feels that everyone has to enjoy their car the same way you do, just because you feel your way is the correct way. that's a bit too elitest for my tastes.
