I got a GTpro and i did this test before i got the exhausts. Ive done 6.4 with a bad shift, 6.2 with a 6RPM launch, and 5.8 with a 7RPM launch and a decent 1-2 shift.

Tonight, i wanted to see if the HKS helped any. So i found a good open road, revved up to 7, and dumped the clutch...the car spun for a good while.....fun, but wasn't good for time. Result? somewhere between mid 6! But there was a van that spotted me and sat at the stop sign for a long time i guess either enjoying the exhaust notes or pulling out a binocular to report me. Ahem anyways hey, i pay tax! it's my road too! i got to another flat road, where i did my 0-60 without launch STOCK and got a 6.7, this time i launched at 6 and got a 6.4......ARGH what the heck i tried one more time but this time in a different area and launched at 5500 RPM...the result was still a 6 something when it blinked so i didn't look at it again.....my oil is good, tires have 7 thousand miles on them, temp was cool, 50s i guess, roads were 3 different ones (no houses near by) if there were....then i'll stop by with some ear plugs for them next time i do this.....but i doult there'll be a next one.....cuz im just so disappointed.....good lord my friend's Celica GTS can do a 6.3 with the GTech, his car has Exhaust/intake. Dah well, i just hope the road was too slick or my tires were or sumthin cuz this ain't right

if you were looking for some good power gains, you won't find it with HKS (or any of the dual exhausts, for that matter, even Mugen), go with a Spoon, J's, or Amuse single outlet exhaust.

yeah... who told you that the exhaust would make any significant gains?

I mean I LOVE my HKS exhaust, but almost NO exhaust for this or any car is going to make much of a diff from 0-60 even if you got 10 HP (you get 1-3 w/ the HKS) it isn't going to make a significant difference in that short of a run. Also, if you are only get mid 6's then the problem is your launch, not the car.

putting an exhaust on small tuned engine is gonna have little, no, or bad effects on the over all performance. The engine is really not limited by its ability to pump air through. If you want a new exhaust to sound "different" or lose some weight (for trackin it) fine, but just like type-r spark plug wires....you aint gonna get any performance gain. a new exhaust will only help an engine that is having breathing problems...at high rpm's the S2000 is having very little issue with breathing. (when i say breathing i mean taking in air and getting it out...not just the intake).

hope it was my launch.....i wasn't looking for any gains. I did a lot of research on the exhaust before getting it. I was sure that i didn't look for an exhaust to bump up my horse power. So sorry if you all misunderstood me and thought i was actually looking for a gain. Im just hoping it wasn't the merchanical part that caused the slower time and hoping that it was me.
