you might want to search this. this topic has been beaten to death. i've owned an ap1, traded it for an ap2, i like the ap2 better. i really dont want to explain though.

Over the AP1, the AP2 has:
Fact:
-More torque
-Softer everyday suspension
-More elbow/shoulder room
-Triple cone synchronizers (vs. dual cone in the AP1)
-Better stereo
-Brushed aluminum interior trim
-17" wheels
Opinion: (of some, not yours truly)
-Better looking wheels
-Better looking headlights/tail lights
-Better looking front/rear bumper
-Better looking exhaust
Of course, none of the above matters when you're bouncing off your 8k rev limiter .

its a tad bit faster. if thats what u wanna know. usually puts a few more horsepower down at peak then ap1, and has a lil more torque. but the best feeling about owning an ap1 is the 9k redline. so cool when people say "holy crap 9k! thats like a motorcycle engine"

please dont get confused between the ap2's. there are two types of ap2's....04/05 and 06/07.
updates on 06/07
new wheels
drl's
dbw
vsa
ext. temp gauge
oil minder
seats(which are awesome!!)
new interior material (dash,steering wheel)
air bag seat sensors
addition of laguna blue pearl
i'm sure there are some others i'm missing
the two ap2's are very similiar except the 06/07's are much more fly by wire and digital. the 04/05 would be more appealing to me if i was looking to boost/modify.

since the first thing you want to do to the s2 is a turbo kit i'd say that you are more into speed than looks (not saying that looks arent important) but engine wise i'd would definatly say the F22 is better and stronger. Do what I did, put an MY00-01 ecu on an F22! best of both worlds
