I've been seeing a whole bunch of threads about over-revving. Just thought it would be a good idea to centralize the information so there wouldn't be the hassle of searching old threads to find more info.

As always, drive safely out there, and PAY attention when you shift!

i just try not to shift to hard between 2nd and 3rd and extra carefuly from 3rd to 4th. actually i take that all back haha

I blew mine. 3-4 shift with an awkward throw because there was a big cup in the cupholder.
Watch what's in the cupholder!
almost every valve was about ready to drop, there was a hole in piston 1, and cylinder 1 had pings and scratches.
New motor going in right now, I should have her back tomorrow

Looking at your signature . . . . its truly an odd day when the Honda is not running but the Mitsu is alive . . . that being said, I love 2g DSM's, used to have an eclipse . . . such cheap power lol.

my friend mechanically over reved my ap2. i dont know the detail since i was sleeping. apparently he mis shifted to 3 instead of 5 causing the rpm to enter the redlines. car drives fine however im not taking any chance. currently my car is at the dealer for an inspection for any damage.
