Default $2500 down and $299 (plus tax) per month - 48 month lease. (good?)

Just looking to see what others are paying. This is for a left over '01 white S2000. I forgot to ask what the residual was, but usually i don't really care...especially after 4 years.....?

I would end up paying $18k or so (with tax) for the use of the car for 4 years....

What does anyone speculate actuall value to be on a 4 year old 48,000 mile S2000? $20-22k?

Thanks...Scot

The residual value on a 2002 S2000 is about 63%.

Hmmmm. . .interesting. . .

Just went to www.hondacars.com and used their payment calculator. Here's what I found:

With ZERO down. . .

2002 S2000
36 Months Term
12,000 Annual Mileage

$476.55
*Lease Summary: Required Refundable Security Deposit $500.00, 1st Monthly Payment $476.55, Capitalized Cost Reduction $0.00 to equal an estimate total of $976.55 due at lease signing

. . .or. . .with $899.28 down. . .

2002 S2000
36 Months Term
12,000 Annual Mileage

$449.28
*Lease Summary: Required Refundable Security Deposit $450.00, 1st Monthly Payment $449.28, Capitalized Cost Reduction $0.00 to equal an estimate total of $899.28 due at lease signing

. . .or with $2,425.75 down. . .

2002 S2000
36 Months Term
12,000 Annual Mileage

$400.75
*Lease Summary: Required Refundable Security Deposit $425.00, 1st Monthly Payment $400.75, Capitalized Cost Reduction $1,600.00 to equal an estimate total of $2,425.75 due at lease signing

Something to think about, I guess. . .

As long as the car has low miles sub 50 and you can get warranty coverage thrown in for the extra year, snap it up. Not a bad deal for a lease.

Scot,
Please be aware that leases are great, if you are committed to keeping the car for the full term. We usually have 1 car on lease since we usually want to turn it over in 3 years. A lease is commitment for a specific dollar value. If you are looking at a 48 month lease for $300 per. American Honda or whoever is looking for $14400. Unless you pass on, they still wanrt their money and the lease says that they are entitled to is.
Sometimes, the lease can be assigned, but you my still be liable for the money after the transfer.

Welp..... i can lease the car for $2500 down and about $348 for 36 months..... my only problem is just what you guys stated...

I HAVE TO BE COMMMITTED TO THE LEASE OR ELSE!!!!....They basically say the buyout is the sum of the payments left plus the residual..... so at no point would it be beneficial to sell the car... i cannot keep anything (s2000/evo/typhoon/shogun/nothing) for 3 freaking years.... at least I don't think that I can....

The lease is by far the cheapest I have seen...5% interest and a purchase price of $30,172....but if i cannot stick it out 3 full years i get hosed!

Scot

ps...4 full years was a payment of $299.77 plus tax with $2500 down.

Scott,

Does this mean I shouldn't bother with your Fury quote?

Here is my 2 cents.
Let me preface by saying i am not well informed about leases.
This is what i did, you draw your own conclusions.
I bought my original 2000 S2000 in Feb. 2000, Last week with it having 20,000 miles i traded it in for a 2002 S2000. for a total out the door cost of $5,885. That works out to $245/ month. If i were looking at a lease, i'd be comapring it to that.
Do leases include the cost of insurance? If so i pay about $60/ month for that.

Quick Reply: $2500 down and $299 (plus tax) per month - 48 month lease. (good?)
