500 flywheel
700 clutch/PP
500 install
==> 1700 total
So their quote's really not out of line. Now, for a stock replacement setup, you'd expect the parts to be somewhat cheaper; however, dealership labor is never cheap! I think the people here who are claiming "rip-off" must never have had this kind of work done, at least not at a dealer and out of warranty.
Which brings us back to the warranty issue -- I still think it should be covered, regardless of mileage, assuming you have an affected car (right model year/VIN). Note: the TSB actually covers the disk only, so you'd still have to pay for the PP and flywheel, plus perhaps "incremental" labor for installing those parts.
Try Weseloh in San Juan Capistrano (it's a haul, but they have a GREAT relationship with the LA/OC S2K community).
Good luck!

JZR,
What dealer did your clutch work? Sounds like they are a great establishment and need praise! Not to mention I would like to go to a dealer that treats their S2K customers right.
Thanks

This is a total ripoff by the honda dealer. I am a mechanic and recently replaced by clutch at 6k miles. The total cost for the disk, pressure plate, and flywheel comes out to about $500. It took me 3 hours to do the job. I recommend that you go to your local mechanics or pep boys or sears auto center and have them do it for you. If you can't trust them, I have a shop down in fontana, CA and I can do the job for you. Just pm me. It will costs you about $1000 for parts and laobr, which is considerably less than what Honda is charging you.

I would go to another dealer. My warranty is up soon, so I decided to get the buzzing TSB done. Took it to the dealer last Monday and they are now ordering a new clutch for me. It was not as hard as I thought it would be.

Hi everyone - Couple questions:
1. What is TSB?
2. Can someone please describe the buzzing sound generated while decelerating in 3rd gear? I do get this, but I assumed it was NORMAL....should I take my 2000 S200 in to get this fixed?
3. My driver side window will not retract automatically...anyone else have this problem?
