I called and asked about all of this, and I'm told that at my mileage, the clutch wouldn't be replaced under warranty. I told them to hold off on the clutch job and just take care of some other miscellaneous TSB stuff for now.
Oy... I don't know how to get this clutch situation taken care of at a decent price, are these guys just trying to screw me?

Sounds like you are getting ripped off. Sometimes dealers like to "double dip" by charging customers for work done AND filing warranty claims. If your car is in for the second gear grind, then the work should be free. They MIGHT charge you for a clutch, but the labor shouldn't count if it's for a TSB.

I just put in a high performance clutch on my car because of my supercharger and other mods.
Clutchmasters Stage 4: $900
Toda Flywheel: $500
Installation labor: $350
$1750
For the amount you are spending you better be getting something better than OEM!

Your def getting the shaft. That dealership is crap. When i bought my car less than a year ago, they still were asking 8k over sticker. Seriously, they are clowns.
You should check with the other guys in So Cali, but i believe many take their car to Wesloh Honda and have had much success. You may want to try giving Tony down there a call.

Flywheel is definitely part of the clutch installation.
But it all depends on the condition.
Usually you need to resurface the flywheel when you install new clutch, however you can have condition like mine, I didn't have to resurface the flywheel, since it was fine. But the usual recommendation is to resurface it. And if the condition is bad enough, you need to replace it, if not you will definitely have serious driving problem including odd noises and vibration.
Honda OEM parts aren't cheap and you are adding flywheel to the equation so there it is. So maybe you are paying $200 or bit more than you suppose to. Most dealers are rip-off but I don't think they are ripping you off seriously.
Ask them why they need to change the flywheel, have them show it to you.
So, don't abuse your car too much, it all comes back to you soon or later.

is this the only honda dealer within driving distance?
if not....i would recommend going somewhere else before paying $1700 for a repair that another dealer might do under warranty.

Either we're missing part of the story, or you're totally getting ripped off. My dealer did the decel. noise TSB at 35,000 miles. In addition to replacing the clutch and pressure plate, they also put on a brand new factory flywheel.
Your car is well within its warranty period and there is no reason you should have to pay for any problems due to the known TSB.
