Most of the bmw owners in my area are complete D-bag tools complete with the chin strap / wax hair / stupid haircut / fist pumping / etc. Usually in the 17-30 range where parents buy them the cars...

Now that I think about it, something similar to your tale occurred to me, except there wasn't a cop to stop it. Also, it wasn't an M5 (my stock S2K would've gotten eaten worse)... It was a Subaru Impreza WRX STi. We went from a dig and I was on his rear fender when for no reason, he suddenly swerved into my lane. Then he gave me a 
and I flipped him off when I passed him later. I saw that the driver was some punk ass white kid and the passenger appeared to be the same.

Pricks drive all kinds of cars...not just BMW's. BMW is the pinnacle of a luxury/sport sedan and even non M cars offer very well rounded performance. It's unfortunate that so many purchase Roundels for the perceived status but many buy them just because they're great cars. I think the import fans that make broad generalizations that American cars all suck are just as bad as the pricks in BMW's. I'm not implying that you are as I know you have Viper fetish but that crowd isn't much different IMO...same elitist attitude.
