Default WRX vs S2K ... Anyone raced?

Hi,
I have a WRX with upgraded chip, full 3" turboback exhaust and uppipe. I raced my friends S2k the other night from stop light till about 100 and he ended up in my rear bumper not being able to catch up. His car is all stock. He keeps saying that if we kept going, he would've passed me. Being that the WRX is not very aerodynamic, I kind of believe him, but my car was still pulling hard and he wasn't gaining much. Has anyone raced a WRX to higher speeds, say 130, 135??

Thanks

I have not raced a modded WRX to such high a speed, but hey, if you are in Milwaukee, WI...

I'd be glad to oblige.

My S is stock. And I'm a decent driver.

Yes, the S2k does typically pull pretty hard well beyond 100mph... for the size of the engine and power it has.

Well,
If you know a "SAFE" road where we could run, I would be happy to do so. Our run was on a country road with no traffic, but it wasn't safe for much higher speeds.

Let me know

I'd say use the freeway since the roads are smoothest. However, I always make sure it's a flat section of road and there's NO TRAFFIC. period.

there is a section of freeway out by me in germantown that is very lightly traveled during certain times of the day.

Maybe we should meet up some time soon. I am storing the car shortly after november 1st. After all, my car doesn't make snow it's "b*tch" like yours does. hehe

I raced a modded WRX (19psi, but he was running low boost) up to 140, he was faster up til about 120 (about 2 car lengths on me), and from there i pulled on him (pulled about a car length), but not enough to pass him.

WRX's... easy to beat stock/lightly modded, but becareful when they get some crazy mods, won't be able to be anywhere near them when they accelerate.

Well, I'm going to California for the next couple of weeks (work), so I guess we'll have to wait till next year. Do you ever come down to hwy100 to cruise? I've seen a couple of s2ks crusing around during the summer.

In September I raced a friend who has a WRX with a boost controller (15.5psi in all gears) and
some restrictions removed from his intake. [In case you didn't know, a stock WRX doesn't make
full boost in 1st and 2nd gears.]
I had a passenger and he had no passengers.
We did several highway pulls from 40 - 115.

All pulls yielded the same results.
He would have 1 carlength lead by 60.
He would have 3 carlengths total by 85.
He would have 4 carlengths total by 115.
Although by 115 he seemed to be pulling less and less quickly.
I suspect his advantage would have lessened as we got faster but we didn't want to go 140.

Later that week he [WRX] went 13.7X @ 100.Xmph at the track with a 1.9X 60 foot time.

Oh yeah, and just to make both of our cars seems slow as hell, my other friend in a 98 Trans Am
which runs 12.3 was pacing us from behind. It sucks to be accelerating all out an just get passed
like your standing still.

Yeah, you only get about 10psi boost when running stock. I don't since the chip takes care of controlling that. I get about 15 on 1st and 2nd and up to 16.5 on the rest (with the stock blower). My best run was a 13.9 with a 1.8 60ft time. Do you own an S2K?
