I don't want this to turn into a flame war. Everyone buys the car that best suits their needs. Some of my needs happened to include (a) convertible top and (b) attractive. This is my third car that will be used for weekend excursions, so I am not interested in a four door sedan that I think most of us will agree is quirky looking at best.
Oldster - Although some folks on this board may make some ridiculous comments (i.e. "can't believe I just lost a race to a new M3"), I think it's safe to say the S2000 is one of the best bang-for-the-buck cars available. I will be proud to drive my "not exactly exotic Honda" when it arrives in February and will rarely feel the need to defend it on WRX bulletin boards.

I don't know what you are fighting for here, but if you are trying to win the $/hp mod-gain contest by comparing to a limited production car such as the S2000, I guarantee you'll win everytime.

Chill out Nathan. The guys are pretty cool here. I had an S2000 on order for months and bought a WRX instead because of practicality reasons. Even the S2000 guys said the WRX was the right car for me (about to get married, yada yada).
I actually like the people here better than most of the snobs on i-club (at least the ones in the General forum)!

1. i ran 12.3@110.4 on 20psi at an altitude density of 5100 feet. I can run 23+ psi on my car now and as far as i know the fastest S2000 you guys have to offer is at 12.1 at sea level. I don't think anyone is going to make me eat my words.

Nathan's clutch was slipping on that run. He should run 11's once he gets his tranny in order.
The only reason an S2000 can run lower boost and get the same times is because of compression ratio. The S is 11:1 while the WRX is 8:1.
The WRX is a designed turbo motor, while the S is a designed NA motor. The S will have to be rebuilt to run more boost. Nathan is running on the stock top end and bottom end.
Fact is the WRX will respond better to turbo mods than the S.
