I'll chime in the ZR-1. I've raced one reasonably-well driven ZR-1 at an Auto-X at Buttonwillow. This wasn't a safe typical Auto-X as our speeds hit 90+ on the back straight because the slalom cones were spaced far apart (WOT all the way in that section). Our times were within a half-second of each other. So I figure we're darn even on a medium-speed road course.

Having owned/driven the ZR-1 and an SC'd S2000 its not even close enough to debate: ZR-1 in a straight line. On the other hand, the S2000 is 15 buckets more sexy fun than the Corevette. Personally, I always felt dirty when I was driving the ZR-1, but that is a long story. I have serious respect for the Z06, but I could never bring myself to own another modern Chevy.

How did the ZR-1 come into this? mid-12 car.. from what i've heard.
wouldn't a 80's style vette be TPI model engine? much slower then LT-1
