according to wisconsin a geared s2000 can hit low low 13's....love to see that
"lol NOS is FI. so if you don't want to go the FI route, then you can't use nitrous either. wink.gif
and before anyone jumps on you, we all know you mean nitrous oxide. but NOS is a widely accepted term, even though it's really a brand. just like asking for a kleenex when you really want a "facial tissue".
and your honda engine can take nitrous just fine. guys have pushed this car to 18psi daily or as much as 26psi on the dyno on a completely stock block (except head gasket). so nitrous isn't necessarily bad to use. it burns hotter, however, so you may want to consider using a VAFC2 to see if you're knocking while you use it, as detonation is a bad thing. though I know members have used nitrous with no problem.
IMO, you're better off getting gears. low low 13's should be attainable with 4.57 or 4.77 gears and decent tires. and that's a cheap mod (under $1000).
however, 350Z's shouldn't be "beating you up". they are not faster than the S2000 until above 100mph. in fact, you'll pull on a 350Z on a stoplight race, as your gearing makes the car faster before 60.

As far as S2k vs tre-fitty-z, its about as even as you can possibly get.

better launch and don't grind 2nd gear, and you don't think low 13's is possible? well, eventually we shall see won't we. i'll gladly bookmark this thread, so I can revive it later once people start running low 13's with 4.57 or 4.77 gears.

Oh and that ONE thread you posted must be gospel truth too...while we're at it.
Wisconsin's experience/post pretty much sums it all up IMO...the two cars are as even as they come, with 350Z having the edge as speeds reach 100 mph +.

cool deal. a 2.2 60 foot is pretty good on non-slicks. anything more is more than likely bye bye rear end. But like i said id love to see it so prove me wrong. But i dont see gears making you hit low 13s when most supercharged s's dont hit low 13's. Hell most s's dont hit 13s period....

Go to the Drag strip. You will be amazed as some know how to drive and some have no clue. With any giving car there can be a 1.5 second difference and it all boils down to driver. Throw mods in and forget it. Gears will help an s2000. especially to the 80 to 100 mph mark.....then they probably hurt the s2000.
Car and Drivers quick review section in the back of there mag is for tools. Go to the drag strip. That will open a whole new world. Even if you don't race. But better if you do race. Get a grip of what your car can do in a straight line. A couple of visits to the Drag strip can equal months of street races..............plus all the other times you can compare to yours. Ask questions..............everybody loves to talk about thier car and thier Mod's if there modded. In four hours you will see at least 250 races between 75 different cars. Its A trip.................and Addicting.
My s2000 stays home on drag nights. Its a convertible roadster and not a dragster. But I have brought it once. I bring the Ls-1 Goat. My s2000 has become the weekend warrior for country back roads. It's also my date car............dam the chicks luv the "S".
In the year 2000 when the s2000 came out you could beat a decent amout of cars. But since then the competition has caught up and has passed the s2000 in straight line performance. Most of the cars that give the s2000 fits have come out after the year 2000.
