VW R32

VW R32
I had a VW R32 that kept taking off infront of me in town trying to get me to race him. I declined to follow while we were in town, as I really don't like to do anything like that in town. Once we got out of town, he took off and I ran him down pretty quick, then pulled past. We got to the next light, which was red so I figured once it turned green I would let him roll out and then follow, just to give him a chance. Light turned and he seemed to roll out, but once I went WOT I pulled him pretty quick, so I let off. Finally, we caught the next light, which was also red, I did the same thing that I did at the last except it did not seem like he was going, so I shifted to second, and then he finally went . I went WOT, but gave up two cars off of the start, and to my suprise he was much faster than the 1st couple of times, by 60 I had closed the gap to one car, by 90 I had pulled to 1/2 car back, and then we started into a sweeping corner in which I had the inside lane, at that point I pulled a car by 100, when we let off.
All and all I must say I am really suprised about how fast that car was, really just expected to pull right past him like the last times, I am not even sure that he was trying the other times, either that or I gave him a better jump than I though.

careful now...
maybe he wasn't trying the first few times, but you'd be surprised how hard it is to reel a car in once you lose the momentum from the beginning of the race, unless you're considerably faster than the other car.

It was the newer R32, I have no mods, and the sweeping corner was really sweeping, 100 was no issue on it, my only point was that only once I had the shorter line did I pull infront of him.

Magazine times usually have them in the 14.1 - 14.2ish range trapping ~ 96-97mph.
Awd launch really helps their 1/4 times. But if he didn't have a 2 car momentum jump on you, you would have just steadily walked him.
Fusion's correct. That slight bit of momentum goes a longer way then you would think.
Anyhow, nice kill!

agreed, if you are following something and they jump before you , even if your car is faster, it wont seem like it because before you can catch them you have to catch up.
