i think that's what it was... anyway - at a light near my house, he pulls up alongside me on the left - i'm with the woman, who says 'he's gonna go,' and i'm trying to ignore him - look out of the corner of my eye, and he's got gauges up and down both a-pillars, and a fire extinguisher to boot... his buddy is saying something, but i don't pay attention. anyway, light changes, and he rolls out slow - i match him, waiting for the other shoe to drop. unfortunately for him, he decided to drop the other shoe just as i approached 6k rpms. it was over before it started, went about 1/2 mile, hit the 4-ways, and pulled into my neighborhood as he zoomed on by. i guess it's a kill, since he tried to be sneaky by not starting right away. oh well, even the girlfriend got a chuckle out of that one.

not really... didn't look like the newest, but didn't look 10 years old... kinda rounded bodystyle, 2 doors... like i said i really didn't want to notice him til he went for it, and by then he was too far back to tell if i had to guess i'd say '95-97ish.

Yeah...you would have likely kicked his butt if it were an A3 model. Despite the relatively sufficient amounts of torque produced by the top of the line GTI VR6, it wouldn't have been enough to successfully outrun the S2000. Now a 10 year old Golf with a G60 motor on the other hand......hmmm

yeah, but that wasn't it... kinda like a whining noise - s/c or turbo... dunno - but it didn't match up to VTEC i guess he didn't get it spooled up, or maybe he did - i don't know.
