Default VTEC killz The story of me vs M3

Me: 2002 s2k with 1300 miles on the clock. stock

HIm: 1997 M3 cold air intake, exhuast

The race: I launch at 3thou and bog (this car is so different then my previous honda, i suppose i have to rev it higher) anyway, he has me by 3 cars. Then, something happens, it looks like he is slowing, but that wasn't the case. By third gear i was at his side.

The verdict: I lost. We raced and there was a redlight ahead, so even though i was pulling hard and litarrly about to pass him I slowed because i hate when people run reds at high speeds. SO i lost, it sucked, but I know, (not pride talking here) i would have passed and won. But holy shit does VTEC work. It really sucked, had i finsihed 3rd gear i would have been a car ahead. Theres always next time.

Ps. Is it ok that i did this? (raced) I hit vtec 6 times prior to this (all after 600 mileS) DId i hurt the car. This was my first race. PLease, tell me. Mike

At least you slowly worked your car to 1300 miles first. and not raced at 100 miles. It should be fine. As long as you had fun with your car

i first hit vtec at 400miles...and started really hitting it at 600 miles! my car is fine...for now. i doubt i'll have to worry about any serious problems.

yeah, if you're going to race from a complete stop, then you have to dump the clutch at around 6,500 or 7 even for best results.

your first race...no biggie. vtec feels great huh?

E36 or E46? I'm guessing E36 right...

You'll feel more power as you increase the mileage on your car. 1300miles isn't mature yet IMO.

Well i am not sure of the E36 or 46, but it was the 240 hp one, 2nd generation. It was my first race in the S and it felt liek my first race ever all over again. So, from what iam getting i did not do anythign too bad. Did anyone race a bit in the early mileage of their S (between 600-1500) and now has signficanlty more and the car is fine? THanks, sorry for the worry, Mike

'97 = E36 = 240HP

E46 = 2001+ = 333HP or something along those lines
