Actually infinatebass, you would be surprised how restrictive the air flow is on the GT's. Just adding underdrive pulley's and removing the air-silencer along with free flowing exhaust will dramatically increase the power of the mustang. BTW I stock 99-01 GT will be just a bit faster than a stock S2000, given it has a good driver. The stories you have heard are true but probably have to deal with the older GT's. You would be surprised at the differences in performance from just the 98 and the 99GT's. I have seen many races with S2000's and stock GT's and the GT's generally only lose 1 out of 5 times. Granted the S2000 never loses by much it is very close and does come down to driver. But as I stated earlier if they get that mustang breathing properly the performance increase is quite rewarding. Not flaming, just trying to educate a fellow enthusiast.

seeing how the average s2000 owner runs 14.8's i wouldn't doubt that a new altima could beat it. The Altima's (according to various mags) run between 14.4 @ 100mph to 14.8 at 96mph... that beats what most people put down with the S2000.

I spun my way to a 14.3XX with my S2000 but also ran 4 runs of 14.6 or higher...

i would imagine from a roll the Altima would beat the S2000 again.... due to 250lb ft of torque or more that it has.

You moron. Show me where I said my Civic was faster than an Altima? Show me. You act like you're smart, yet you bring up things that aren't even relevant. You want to know what I think of you? You are nothing but an excuse of a human being and a disgrace to the S2000 owner family.

Frayed,
To answer your question about the exact horsepower gains to expect from a GT with those mods, I got a friends dyno sheet for some "real" numbers. I don't have a scanner so I will just type in the differences. Stock the Mustang GT produced 223 horsepower at the rear wheels. The underdrive pulleys added 9 peak horsepower, the removal of the air silencer added 3 horsepower. The xpipe, free flowing cats, and a chip gave him an extra 21 horsepower. So for a little over $850 he added 33 horsepower. I've talked to others though that were lucky to add 30 horsepower with the same mods.

Wow.. Altima is FWD too which means less grip for drag races.. it would be even faster if
it's a RWD...
On top of that.. it cost 10k less than S2000...
