Yeah, last night was sick. we down in sothern cali had a meet with a bunch of sick cars. A modded z06 and turbo supra wanted to race. we hit one spot and got rianed out by military police then they decided to hit up the freeway 20 mph roll to 140 so we all blocked traffic v8 audi s4 modded with intake and exhuast vs me red s2ki aem v2 another s2k with intake and other with exhuast after that we had a s15 silvia lined up!@ we slowed to 20 for few seconds then heard the screeching of the z06 and supra I am not sure what happened with those two I heard the supra was boosting 25 and blew an intercooler pipe off. but all the way from 20mph to 120 when we stopped we were dead even nose to nose with the s4. it was seriously badass race. oh and bytheway the s15 beat us all. which is actually coicidently a drifter.

The guy with the z06 is my good freind. I heard that the S4 was pretty even with you guys! Good times.. Glad no one got in trouble.

BTW the z06 won all three races by a considerable amount.. Not much of a contest I guess.

If im not mistaken, the twin turbo S4 can be made alot faster than the V8 right? I think with just a chip it exceeds it. Anyway, yeah, those are some NICE cars.

yah those audi are nice I wantedto buy one. turbo is definetly wasier to make faster. the race was no contest greatly due to the fact that the kids intercooler hoses ke[t blowing off cause he turned his boosst alot higher. prior to that he said he had beatin modded zo6's. in my opinion if his car was mechanically sound he still would have lost. who knows though we never got to see him accelerate

As for the V8 S4- it's 340hp... but its also a pig. The car is naturally aspirated- so the exhaust and intake won't do much... like the s2k- forced induction is really the only way to go... that being said... in the sake of fitting a V8 in the engine bay- they sacraficed spare room- not leaving much for turbo's and SC's... without custom fitting (though I believe there are a couple out there now... )

The b5 S4 (TT V6) can be made MUCH faster for less then $2000 in mods... that being a chip, exhaust, intake and maybe some downpipes... those alone will add over 100hp to the car. 100hp makes it a low 12 second ride. Stock- it is nose to nose with the S2k (I own both- and have ran them side to side many times- with the slight edge to the S4, ESPECIALLY from a dig!!) but with that boost- its flat out- no contest...

I heard that the guy with the supra ia getting a bigger turbo in a couple of weeks.. They should run again.. the z06 is also getting a couple of other mods to.. will be interesting.

I was considering picking up a B5 S4 to use as a beater...........but from what I hear the maintenance on those cars can be expensive, and the K03s dont particularly like the excess heat from overboosting.

I've known three people who have owned them in various stages of modification. Oddly the near stock wagon (stop tech brake kit, great upgrade) was the least reliable. All of them were tracked (wherein they demonstrated that they are heavy pigs and ate tires/brakes like a fat girl would cake.

Buy a turbo timer, change the oil -- they don't seem all that unreliable.

Warning, they have the worlds worst shifter -- seriously row-row-row your boat, it kills the fun -- and less backseat legroom than an integra.
