Cool Surprise ending to a mustang encounter

Last night I was on the way home from my gf's house when ahead of me i saw a newer model(99-04) yellow GT mustang ahead of me. Lucky me he was turning the same way I was turning when we turn I was poised ready in first second gear he nails it and so do I. I start to reel him in and he misses third and I fly by. Next he follows me to my house and stops and says "I though we were going to run'um" I said were ever, when ever. So I followed him to special parkway the is used for this high profile resort?gold course, it's long wide smooth and has a long straight ending in some decent curves. We turn and I pull up beside him and we gear down to where we want to be, actually I was in first at about 25mph/5000rpm a little lower than I wanted to be. He honked 3 times and we went I immediately jumped 1/2 a car and then pull another car or so ahead then we shut down. We do this a couple more times with the same results. The last time we go we don't let off and when we reached the curves he disappered. I stopped at the end of the road and waited for him. When he finally rolled up he asked if the S was stock which it is, and he then told me he has an CAI and 3.73 gears. He didn't seem to happy about everything, but he was still cool about it. We went our seperate ways and I left with a different respect for my car. Maybe I should have told him that my car was Sc'ed so he wouldn't have felt so bad.....ummm.....nahhhhhhhhhh!!

I am not sure what the 99-04 GT runs in the quarter-mile, but I was under the impression that you need to have a Cobra to have a decent time at the track.

Nice kill though.

Given the fact the Mustang was modded, Id say that margin of victory was probably about where it should be. Did you run him at Grandover? I know nothing about what mods do what for a Mustang as far as HP is concerned. Hey Matt, we need to get up again before winter hits... its almost time for me to put my s2000 up for the winter.

I know for sure the 3.73 gears definitly help on the stang. Thats like an s2k with 4.56/7 gears.

I'm not sure what the factory gears are in the stangs, but I'm sure what ever he installed was intended to make him faster. Dolemike it was Grandover we went down its perfect to race through......and for anyone who remembers that the ticket I received a while back for 83 in a 35 I had a damn good lawyer had to pay him 400 and the ticket 110 and he got me a Prayer for judgment I'm very pleased

you should have smoked him, especially from a roll. The GT's are high 13 low 14 second cars all things being equal, but it seems that the majority of stock GT/Stock S2K races on this board have the S2K always winning.

gears will not help the GT run better from a roll, only off the line will 3.73's be efficiently utilized. A CAI will give you a tenth if you are lucky. Anyways, my main point is you should have smoked him seeings how bolt on LS1's keep up with supercharged S2K's thx to that wonderful video.
