Default Stock S2000 vs. 200sx Turbo and Nitrous

OK so i hit up some local street racin for some quick fun. As soon as I pull up I get challeged by a guy in a 96-97 200SX with a Turbo boosting 12psi and he is running a 55shot of NX Express. He tells me he has this do you wanna run? I was like sure why not.

So he said lets go from a roll of 10mph, and on the 3rd honk lets go.

So we take off i immediately get in front by a car. By second I continue to pull. And all through the gears I am slowly walking away from him. Once i hit 120 i started to run away from him and then at 135 he flashed his high beams and gave up.

When we got back to the lot, he was very surprised of how fast the S2000 is, and couldnt believe my car wuz stock(except for a K&N drop in). He told me good race, and he wanted to run me again in 2 weeks when he starts boosting 20psi. I told him sure why not lol.

So another win in the books.

135 is scary... the fastest ive ever been in my car was 140.... after that its too frightening... i cant do it... at least not on the roads and freeways around here.. too risky... so easy to lose control at thsoe speeds

It really isnt scary once you get used to it. If your going in a straight line all you have to do is hold the wheel straight, not very difficult. Ive been 147 in my S2000, but could have gone faster but it was during the day and there was traffic ahead.

As for racing at night its on a straight highway(2 lanes on each side), opposing traffic is seperated by about 50 yards of grass. And there is absolutely no one on the roads at that time of night so it isnt really bad.

You think 140 is scary? Try 180ish in a supercharged C5. My middle aged uncle is having a nice mid life crisis and bought 4 various corvettes and this one has harnesses, pretty much free flowing exhaust and been tuned out. He took me for a ride last week and down a local 2 lane highway. At 2:00 in the morning we acheived this salt flat kind of speed. I have been in the neighborhood of 150 on many occassions. But it just gets different when you get closer to that 2 century mark. Oh and dont think we didnt pass a johnny law while moving past the 160 mark, all he did was flash the lights and pull over on the shoulder.

Not meaning to call BS but I have raced an s15 200sx from a 50 roll and I only took him by about 1.5-2 lengths to 100. He was completely stock apart from a boost mod which made him run 11psi. Did he use his NOS?

Also having a lot more low end torque wouldn't he have been at a significant advantage from a 10mph roll?

Umm not necessarily will he have a better take off because of low end torque. He has a turbo system which probably changed the entire torque curve. And it wuz not bs, my friend has it on tape. Just need to figure out how to get it online.

I think he's talking about the US FWD 200SX. You're probably talking about a Silvia (S15), which is what the 200SX (in Australia and other places) is called in Japan.
