I ran my 04' last night and the best i could get was a 14.7 @ 100.2 due to literally no traction at all. I launched at 3500 when i ran that and still spun through first. I was running on the stock re050's that are pretty worn out. I had a .206 RT with a 2.407 60'. I hold the track responsible for this because i almost crashed twice due to my car ripping sideways into second gear...It was just like driving in the rain.
LoL, I did that on the street and hit a curb. Either way, you can't really hold them responsible because then what's the excuse for higher-powered cars that rip sideways in most any condition?

Anyway, I went to the strip on Wednesday with my 04 AP2, 15K miles:

First Run:
14.1809 Sec @ 100.6 MPH
2.261 60'

Second Run:
14.7039 Sec @ 100.67 MPH
2.6128 60', spun all the way through first

...got there late and that's all I got to do. The air was cool and the track had a lot of grip. I'm a little worried about my drivetrain, the first run I did, I dumped the clutch at 7000k and feathered throttle a little. The rear end had a weird shudder until I hooked up. I thought this was wheel hop, so on the second run, I just dumped it at redline and WOT. I got the same shudder, and this time the car kept spinning along with the shudder so it couldn't have been wheel hop. Anyone have any ideas on what might've been going on? I drag launch the car at auto-x's and I've done it on the street a couple times, and this shudder never happens, the tires just spin pretty freely.

BTW, the CDV doesn't really act up on launches. It will sometimes when I shift, but it's usually not that huge of a deal if I get my pedal timing right.

2.1147 - 60ft
5.9848 - 330ft
9.1839 - 1/8 mile
77.65 MPH 1/8

thats all cause we only have a 1/8 mile track here in abilene.....but im trying to get into the high 8s...!!! i want to get 8.8 or 8.9!!!
Sorry that this is off-topic, but I have a cousin who lives in Abilene, Texas, and he takes his '02 IS300 to tracks and checks out how much faster his car has gotten from each mod he adds. I just wanted to ask if you've seen a guy with a somewhat modded IS300 around Abilene. It's purple-ish colored and from the last time I saw it, he was running on some stock rims.

I dont know what I am doing wrong since you guys seem to be breaking into the 13's with ease... my two fastest times are with a drop in k&N and berk HFC

2.155 60ft
14.1- 1/4mile at 99.--mph

2.2-- 60ft
14.2- 1/4mile at 100.08mph

You're not doing anything 'wrong'. Just try and get that 60' down a bit. The launch is a huge factor in breaking into the 13's. If you could somehow manage a 2.0 60 ft, or possibly even a 1.9 (personal stock best), 13.7 or 13.8 is right there waiting for you. You're close brother, don't give up.

Yeah, but I recently found out that he has been lying about going to tracks. Another cousin of mine told me that he lies to make his car look superior to mine. Where'd you meet him (if it is him you've met)?

I have an 04 and after some tinkering I found that launching at 4800-5000 works best for me. I was at honda day last night and these were the times I came out with: Mods are drop in filter Ebay header and berk HFC

First run of the day launched 6k and spun and spun

60' '2.580
330' '6.485
1/8th '9.579 @ 77.71
1000' ' 12.243
1/4 ' 14.475 @ 101.64

second run i missed second so Im not putting that up haha
Third run I launched at 4600ish and the results were
60' '2.105
330' '5.90
1/8th '8.976 @ 78.17
1000' ' 11.627
1/4 ' 13.856@ 101.09

This moved me from the slower bracet at Honda day to the faster one haha the cut off was 14.0. So I dialed my et for the day at 13.80

Fourth run Launch at 5k
60' '2.088
330' '5.883
1/8th '8.967 @ 77.65
1000' ' 11.627
1/4 ' 13.857@ 101.12

5th run launch at 5k
60' '2.072
330' '5.887
1/8th '8.985 @ 78.57
1000' ' 11.657
1/4 ' 13.899@ 100.68

6th run launch at 4800
60' '2.082
330' '5.928
1/8th '9.019@ 77.91
1000' ' 11.673
1/4 ' 13.899@ 101.85

And my final run for obvi reasons 5k launch
60' '2.055
330' '5.841
1/8th '8.890 @ 78.85
1000' ' 11.514
1/4 ' 13.722@ 102.09 BREAKOUT....oh well Ill take it
