Hi all,
has anyone ever tried an accelerometer app on his/her Iphone or android phone?
Over the weekend I was testing a car performance app on my phone.
I didn't launch the car at all (drove away safe from 3k rpm while babying clutch) Hence the slow 60ft time.
Conditions:
Falken 452 street tires on 37 psi on all corners (high pressure, I know)
Temp: around 70 degrees fahrenheit
Stock suspension
'00 JDM AP1 with just shy of 220whp (berk headerback / AEM / Fujita intake)Dyno-ed a couple of months ago on a dynapack hub dyno.
Had the following results according to GPS accelerometer app:
60ft: 3,517 seconds at 18.85 mph?! really slow
330ft: 7,526 seconds at 67.9 8mph
1/8 mile: 9.524 seconds at 77.41mph
0 to 62mph: 7,5 seconds
Do these numbers look realistic to you? Or are they completely impossible, because it's a phone application working on accurate GPS measurements.
Also, I know my launch was really really slow but I was launching with very low rpm's while babying the clutch.

I ran a 13.9x multiple times in 80 degree arizona heat on a slippery track. Searching for slips. that was with invidia test pipe and weapon r intake on 03 Ap1. Hoping to get to track this fall now have invidia 70mm v2, Comp stg 4 clutch and ultra lightweight flywheel and supertech dual springs and innovate trans and motor mounts. If I can get enough cash in time I will run haltech ecu, rear collar kit and nitruous and may raise the rev limiter alil. oh and I launch from 7k-redline, fastest pass was from redline running toyo r1r's in rear 255s. Im also putting together a new diff with 4.88s so I have something to replace when this one poops its guts out.

I've been going to the track past few weeks trying to get my car into the 8's (1/8th) and it is not happening yet lol. Kind of upset. Unfortunately I go to the track during "cruise nights" where it isn't prepped great and we aren't allowed to line up in the grooves.
2.2557 60ft
6.0039 @ 330ft
8.559 @ 594ft
9.1258 1/8 ET
78.96 1/8mph
Not quite sure why you guys are trapping so much higher in the 1/8th also
My mods are: PLM Header, Ebay test pipe, ebay catback , AEM V2 CAI, megan track coilovers, bride seats, 1/8th tank of gas (not really a mod lol)
Notice any difference between top down/top up?
Going to take my catback off and just weld on a turn-down, getting a 12lb battery and switching back to all 4 stock AP1wheels with star specs.. Should be almost an 80lbs saving with everything off and without my rota boosts on, that have fuzion tires lol
Hoping for a high 8.7/8.8 *crosses finger*
