So I was driving home from school when about 5 exits from my house doing about 85 mph in the fast lane when I see this car move out of the fast lane for me to pass so I think "How courteous of him/her" but then I noticed it's a yellow SRT-4 and know that he wants to play so he paces me for another mile one lane over from my fast lane. I think to myself "I've had enough of this guy" so I drop it into 4th and take off, he's right there 2 cars back and had been waiting the whole time. We climb to about 135 and I shut it down because I didn't even realize how fast I was going, that was crazy. During the whole 85-135 mph progression he was inching his way towards me and was still about 3/4 a car back when we shut it down. I exit and he follows, pulls up next to me and gives me the thumbs up, I roll down my window and say "Are you stock bro?" because I was like "Damn, I knew SRT-4's could pull down low but didn't know they were that strong up top"...He replies "I only have a Stage I" so I say "What comes with that?". He says it's some ECU chip upgrade, boost controller, etc. I waive back and then go home. I felt pretty damn good knowing that my stock '04 S2000 hung with a "modified" SRT-4 since these cars have a wicked reputation.

Weird...I figured you would have pulled on him....I have pulled on a stage one on the highway (he said it was a stage two...but no way)..and beat one by 6 cars from a dig...Nevertheless good run

 

Nice run, 135 is crazy! anyway, since his car was yellow, it was most likely an 03 which means stage 1 came with a new pcm and injectors, 04 and 05 came with the S1 sized injectors so they dont come with S1 on an 04-05. thats it for Stage 1, but what it sounds like is he may have taken the oh so common cheap mod route and just added stage 1, mbc and wga and turned up the boost. either way, if thats what he did and its setup well, good job keeping up with him, its a pretty quick setup. again, nice runs.

 

i raced my buddy 1 month after he bought it and learned to drive stick, he had stage one with wastegate at 18 psi and pulled well even with a passenger

 

You may want to edit that post a little bit. I would end it with, he pulled bus lengths on me even with a piss drunk passenger.

 

Nah, I would end it with "Then I saw a couple bottles of 1800 go flying out the window"

 

i raced a stage 1 srt4 in my AP1 a couple months ago. it was from a 10mph roll. by the time i shifted into 4th, he was about 1-1/2 carlengths behind. nice run.
