Sorry guys, real life is no motortrend. I've seen 3-5 s2k passes at the local track, high 14s, low 15s... Ok maybe ~93-94mph passes, I don't remember, but the speeds were pretty low. I for one expected more from the s2k, but it could have been just bad driving.

Imports get no respect around here, so I root for anything out of the country.

Well, you said real life is no motor-trend. it's the same for 3000GT VR4, I've seen VR-4 running mid 14s on the track when I was doing low 14s. I am not saying S2000 is always faster than VR-4. It has more than 50% chance to beat them in a rolling start. Have a nice day. No flame, please.

his is a stock '91 that really isn't in that great of condition...
I would expect him to do times in the mid 6's...

The fastest stock vr-4 runs a 13.09 @ 105 So we can trap about 5-6MPH faster then your fastest stock run or wherever you got that 13.9 @ ~100. But seriously life is no motortrend, and I know my car is quite regularly not running right due to mods so there are definitely other factors to consider.

But do realise that there are modded vr-4/twin turbos running 11s FLAT @ 130MPH with total cost including mods being less then $25K. So those 1st gens that look harmless could be friggin nightmares in waiting.

VR-4's or the stealth TT's with boost controler and a few other mods can rip 0-60 if the driver can launch the AWD properly without bogging 0-60 foot times are under 2 sec. easy and 0-60mph is most likely also goin to be around 5 sec. or lower.

i find this the most amusing thread i have ever seen considering i wanted an S2000 so bad for a long time but i jumped on the VR-4 bandwagon after i found a sweet deal on a black 99 down in Texas.

Im in love both cars, but they are so different in every way that it is very hard to compare the two. Im not going to preach, but you all know the S2000 is a roadster, and the Vr-4 is an AWD sports car. For what they are, i believe that they do their jobs equally well and thats why its hard to say which one is better to begin with.
