I'd say it's very possible.
even possible for VR-4 to beat S2000.

Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4, early 90s (ie 91, 92). I know because he was stopped right ahead of me, and i clearly saw his badges, plus, I know what the car looks like.

anyone know the 0-60 time of a 91 VR4, with someone that really isn't that great at launching... my friend got one and in another sad attempt to make himself look better(it's amazing how many people that I went to highschool with do everything they can to try and find a car better than my sol, not to say a VR4 isn't it's own way, it's just really sad that I'm am the trend setter with my little 125 hp honda....). Anyways, he was trying to convince me that he had just timed his 0-60 and just under 5 seconds(biggest load of shit I've ever heard!) I know that 5.4 is about the best possible from a late model VR4 with an experienced driver, so, basically, I'd like to know what a 91 VR4 with a crappy driver can do.

Impossible, unless very heavily (i.e stripped down with a small block V8) modified, I doubt that car can do 0-60 in uder 5.

So an S2000 can pull a VR4 from 60-100. The VR4 would pull the rest. Hmmm, sounds like you can beat him!

NOT!

The VR4 stock has a better 1/4 and higher top speed. I'm not talking about lame 60-100 punches.

I can beat any car on foot to 10 yards!

Forgive me if I seem mean right now. I'm in a bad mood.

On the 96+ VR-4: remove the spare tire, tools, and cargo cover and you are at around 3690LBS - NOT 4000! That's 150LBS different from a Supra (which are heavy too!). As for speed: A 96 VR-4 has run as low as 13.01 STOCK! Throw in a $50 manual boost controler and you are running 12s.

Now the problem with the early VR-4s is most of them are in dis-repair due to very ****ed up 5-speed trannys, young ownership (a lot of kids buy them as you can purchase a 91 vr-4 for 10k!) and turbo failure (these are old!).

If you're looking to race a vr-4, make sure it's not modified or you will be dissapointed with the outcome.

I've never seen an s2k break 13s, most I've seen are in the high 14s-15s with an average driver (and there are A LOT an the track around here!). The power band is just too small for straight line performance. There is no way an s2k will hang with vr-4 25-120.

A stock 93+ VR-4 (in proper condition) will run mid to low 13s all day long with an average driver with greater then 100MPH traps. I've never seen >90mph traps for an s2k in the quarter. However, a TON of the early gen vr-4s (91-96s) are in terrible condition and I've seen VR-4s run as high as 14.5s quarters! But then again I've seen modded Supra twin turbos running high 14s too. So who knows.
