Well Insomniak, you're the first S2000 owner I know who's gone LS1. I went LS1 to S2000. My '00 SS had 385hp and was a 12.67 1/4-miler but in truth, just wasn't much fun to drive unless I was racing it. Damn thing had so much torque it might as well have been an automatic because I could tool around all day in 3rd gear. It was rare that anyone would even bother to race me (up here anyways, not a big tuner community) so I often went weeks without even pushing it unless I did it solo for grins.
Weird though, even though the car was very evil looking (black wheels, black paint, etc), it rarely turned heads. Sold it for the S2000 down payment.
I must admit though that I do like the new Cobras...too bad Chevy bailed before they counter-punched.

Insomniak,
I had an 02 Z28 before selling it for the S2000.
If you haven't done it already I HIGHLY recommend you get a Direct-Flo airlid for your intake and either a Holley Powershot or K&N filter to go with it. This coupled with your exhaust will wield another jolt of horsepower. You will definitely notice it the moment you put it on.
After that consider putting the Hotchkis LCA's, Panhard Rod, and STB on the car. Just the LCA's and Panhard alone made my rear end hook up SOOOO much better than stock. No more peeling out at the lights...just traction and GO power.
MTI installed the LCA's and Panhard Rod along with my Corsa exhaust and they did an awesome job. I'm sure I could have found a less expensive place to do the work but I had no doubt they knew what they were doing. Oh and yes your numbers are REALLY good for an 00 model considering you don't have the LS6 intake manifold like the 01's and 02's. Sounds like you may have picked yourself up a factory freak.

thanks guys.. yeah i'm happy w/ the z28.. i would of kept the s2k if i could of afforded to keep fixing it.. but i was drained.. had to get into something cheaper.. and w/ cheaper payments, cheaper mods, more power, and more straight line potential which i enjoy.. i don't think i made a bad choice.. i would like to run a s2k just to see the difference.
