First off the car was obviously not designed for quarter mile drag racing. This being true honda also posts numbers of sub 6 second 0-60. This is NOT possible without droping the clutch. I have never read of a stock S2000 blowing out the differential from a drop and droping adds no wear to your clutch. On the other hand i have read hundreds of posts from people who have dropped their clutch many times. Dosn't mean it's right of course...it is your car. It is a HONDA and is designed to take the abuse (do you think they expected people who buy their street legal race car to baby it ?) . Your point is well taken but if you want a fast start this is the only way.

Whew* - a marriage proposal and a lively "to drop or not to drop" discussion - that's pretty exciting, too! In any event, I'm already married, and don't plan to drop the clutch since it seems like you can still have a lot of fun without doing it. We all gotta drive 'em the way that makes us happy, huh?

Am I the only one that finds it difficult to believe she beat a Z28 without dropping the clutch?
They run about a 14 stock and most S2K owners can't equal that even after dropping the clutch.

if you compared the top end acceleration of the S2000 to a car that has the same rate of acceleration (top end mind you) you'll find those others cars are running mid 13's
It's the whole getting off the line and past 28MPH that hampers the S2000's drag racing ability -
In other words if you take a 14 sec camaro, put it next to a 14 sec S2000, above 100 MPH the S2000 will pull away.

It's hard to believe that S2000 would beat Z28 without dropping clutch.
I race lots of Z28, SS, WS6 on the streets. I really enjoy racing with them cuz they can beat me sometimes. It's no fun if you win all the time. That's how I started to modify my car.
