quadcammer- your "dreaded 99" isn't running circles around any S2000.
I think you mean- "would run faster in a straight line than your little girlie-man car."
To all 'stangheads: The Mustang was my 3rd choice for a new car, after the S2000, and Audi TT. The Mustang has great bang for the buck.

I am with linesider on this.
Seriously, an S2000 isn't really competitive with 99+ Cobras on a real racetrack. The power of an f-body or Cobra allows them to walk away, the slower the corner and the shorter the straight the more the S2000 loses. My car is competitive with S2000's in a straight line, add 65 HP to my car, and do you really think it would still be "competitive" or perhaps running away?
Cobras are not perfect, they are a few hundred pounds heavier than they need to be, and the IRS may not be designed specifically for drag racing performance like the stick axle rear suspension of a f-body (that is sarcasm), but f-bodies have a little too much weight, as well, and are freaking huge on the outside with no legroom for the passenger. Please, if I wanted to throw around a minivan full of empty boxes, I would have bought one.j/k
An S2000 is not allowed on many road courses in this country without a hardtop or roll bar or both. If Honda seriously intended this car for track use, they should have installed a track-approved rollbar in it, instead of the minimum protection offered by two hoops.

Its amazing how there is always someone ready to argue.
Is that an excuse.
Or is this an excuse. I mean I don't understand if it is envy or what. The story was about two cars racing on twisted roads and car A. beat car B. Simple. But no there always has to be someone to contradict the story or change the story to what ever they want. He was not talking about going straight or which car is technically faster.
um would u like a medal. everybody knows that s2000s have better brakes then a mustang.
if u had hit a straight long enough, he would have passed u like cake if it was heavily modified as u said.
