Yeah,
Aluminum is supposed to be very expensive to work with. Hard to weld, etc. I think Honda made a mistake going with the all-aluminum. It's not even very light -- at 3200lbs!
That being said, I still think it's a beautiful car, even after 10 years. With the sole exception of the pop-up headlights

tabasco,
That's a good looking blue you've got there. I'm guessing that bra on the front really saved your front end on that long trip you were talking about
Do you think that a 6'5" guy would be able to fit in the front seat with a decent amount of headroom left over? A friend of mine really likes my S, and other roadsters for that matter, but he can't fit in any of them. He was also saying that he would look at a used NSX but he didn't think he would fit.
He's got loooooonnnnnnng legs. I'll make sure to tell him to look at a '97 if he's interested, what with the 6-speed and 3.2L engine and all. For $55K it's not really that expensive when you consider it's quite a bit better than a new boxster S.
thanks for any input

re: why is the NSX so expensive?
Two different NSX owners i've known have told me the same thing (a few years back) - the NSX gives them a feedback unlike any other car they have driven. Almost as if they are one with the car and the road, no matter how fast or how hard they are pushing the car. They both said it's not something you can describe, it's something you have to experience. One of those guys had more-than-test-drive driving experience with: M3, M5, RX7, Supra, older Porsches, and some other mid-range sports cars. He said nothing he's driven compares to the feel of the NSX. So here is one reason why it costs...

Also, I ain't failing my classes.... I just don't consider a combination of As and Bs to be very good...I need only As!!!!!!!!!!
