The second race the NSX didn't power shift, so it lost a car length on every shift. The third race (not in video) the NSX driver was feeling the pressure, so he nailed some perfect power shifts. Like I said, even from 30-140... The SLK pulled maybe 1/4 length ahead for this run, most likely due to my fat ass in the NSX hehe.
The NSX is a 3.2 with SC/I/H/E.

That's what most of the debate revolves around, the "numbers" provided by the magazine. The SLK 32 has a terrible 60 ft time (automatic tranny), but it pulls really hard once it's into 2nd gear, so the 13.0s 1/4 mile times that everyone's getting is misleading. The MPH figure is a bit higher than other cars hitting 13 flat. Because of this, the SLK 32 excels in rolling start races.
The fastest stock SLK 32 that's hitting high 12's now on the SLK forums. There's a renntech SLK 32 (around 410hp) that does 12.8's at 5000ft altitude.

My understanding of the AMG32 was that it was 0-60 in 4.9sec... That should smoke the C5.

Or am I on crack?

I actually have heard with the Vaeth pulley upgrade, exhaust, and intercooler upgrade they would be at 400+ hp, and doing mid 12's. The high 12's on 400hp seems slow as the stock SLK 32 can do almost 13 flat with no mods. I used to have a SLK230 with an upgraded pulley, exhaust and airflow, and I surprised a few S2000's. I beat 2 out of 3 that I raced, but is when they first came out (and probably before people knew how to drive them). The SLK 32 is in a different league.

A stock, regular C5 (not a Z06) is capable of sub-5 second 0-60 times. A stock Z06 is capable of sub-4.5 second 0-60 times.
