To clarify you can earn a dinan badge by purchasing many dinan products that aren't all engine mods, but a supercharger automatically give you the badge. I hope so considering they are selling these chargers for like 6K. I am personally 1 pt short of the badge, but I would never put on that pos badge.

3rd on a 3.0 liter E36 M3 is good for 86 mph. Don't know about the 3.2's though since they got a taller rear end IIRC. S2K is really only good to about 89-90 mph in 3rd, so the BMW guy probably shifted a bit early (or Humanatek's recollection of exact tach/speed data is slightly off thanks to adrenaline :-).
Or maybe the guy had a Dinan chip with the higher limiter. That would allow him to take 2nd to about 70 mph which would fit with around 7200 rpm in 3rd for the S2K...
Ah well, all in good fun.

Are you mocking me puppet boy?
Just get used to the fact that there are S2000 owners that have consistently beaten E36 M3s and don't get your identity so tied up in dragging cars. There's more to life than straight-line racing... dog (just so you understand that I am addressing you, domeDOG@yahoo.com - what's with you and dogs by the way? dmx groupie?)

Space,
You're such a hater. I don't care what you say about S2000's whooping on M3's. Fact is its all driver so for every time a S2000 takes a M3, somwhere else there is a M3 taking the S2000. My e-mail is composed of my name so what's your point? Is your name a reflection of your penis size? Hey you started it......

So, ultimately, it's all in your head. You get so defensive of your M3 you actually log onto an S2000 board and police every mention of an M3 and make sure you let it be known that an "I beat an E36 M3" is always conditioned by "it comes down to the driver" comment.
Get over it.
Note: This is the second post in which you've referred to my penis. Not a good trend, dog.

Dang, where did all these hatred come from? It's just a message board? Especially this particular board is "street encounter" meaning, S2K against other cars. I think other car drivers have their right to say/defend their cars to some extend?
First of all, E36 M3 convertible is a lot slower than E36 M3.
I think when E36 M3 first came out, it registered 5.9 or 6 secs to 60mph and 14.9 for 1/4mile (correct me if I remember incorrectly).
Second of all, anything can happen in a street race, as most of us know. I even lost to MB C280 by a LOT!!! In front of my girl friend. ha ha ha...Yup, missed that second gear. By the time I got into 2nd, he was way too ahead so I said, "DANG" and laughed!!! I bet he had a smile and said "I beat the crap out of M Roadster" ha ha ha

Sorry guys,
I apologize for my end of the hatred. I just love my M3, and feel that S2000 would be a great addition to my garage. Ultimately, if you find two good drivers it should be a good race. I know if I was stock I would have a difficult time beating a stook. Trust me, I have run with some good houstooks drivers.

The cars are pretty close to call, with the driver being the factor. The torque of the M3 does make it easier to get going though
As for 328s not running that strong, don't be so sure...
I've got a friend with a 95 328is and it has the M3 exhaust on it. Aside from that, nothing. That car has managed to keep up pretty close to a 3 liter M3 from a roll. The M3 pulled away (chipped) but not be oodles and oodles of carlengths
Now my friend's previous BMW was fun... an E30 325is that used the eta crank/block making the displacement 2.7 liters. Along with a rumbly V8 like idle (big cam, full length header, no cat) it ran pretty darn strong too. It was quicker than the 3 liter M3s that he ran.
FWIW, I've seen DINAN badges for sale on ebay from time to time
the E36 M3 got to be in ragtop form for something like the last year of sale here.
