SC vs Turbo
Coming back from the Florida supermeet yesterday we've got 6-7 cars making the drive across the everglades on alligator alley. We were just messing around, working through traffic, passing each other, and enjoying the drive. It just happened that I ended up next to the monster of a turbo car in the group with clear road ahead. I'm at 300hp, 200tq, supercharged, with a clutch that's starting to slip (new one should be here tomorrow). She's in a 500hp, 400tq turbo car, although I think she was on low boost which is around 430hp.
We line up... with absolutely no warning to her, I down shift to 3rd around 70, and go WOT. A second later, as I'm pulling away, I give the 3 honks. Another second passes as she downshifts and gets on the gas, I can hear the monster spool up. By that point I've got a huge head start, a couple car lengths and pulling hard. Couple seconds pass as the sound gets louder and she flies by me like I'm sitting still
Needless to say it wasn't much of a run, but fun nonetheless. Not sure it does much for the SC vs Turbo debate, but we now definitely know that a turbo S2000 on 18psi is faster than a SC S2000 on 5psi
