Saturday Morning Destruction
Well, as most of you know I do not post often, though I have loved these forums and this site for years. While I often drive spiritedly, I seldom find the need to "street race", and even when I have, I try to pick my battles.
But, this Saturday, I was destroyed so decisively, I had to share.
Heading out early Saturday morning I found myself at a stop light on Rte. 12, southbound, with straight, open road in front and a few stragglers coming up behind. In my rearview I see an Audi weaving in and out of the straggling pack, setting up to get around the truck stopped to my left, undoubtedly by falling in line behind me and waiting for the chance to get on his way.
I left the light and held 2nd at 6k in anticipation this Audi would be coming by shortly, and as predicted he merged in behind me. Once we passed the truck he would have no one but me and open road...
Well, I hammered it almost as soon as he fell back into the left lane, smooth and quick into third, when just to my left I heard a whistling from this Audi above the sound of the S (with the top down) and I thought, "Cool...turboed."
...as he ran (not walked) all over the S and proceeded to put bus lengths between us until, at 114, I stopped embarrassing myself.
He proceeded to catch traffic and weaved in and out until, eventually, I caught up at the next light. I gave him a thumbs-up and said, "Man, she is definitely quick, but neither one of your turn signals work."
He laughed, as did I, and I went back to my leasurley Saturday morning top-down drive.
What was this Audi (looked like a Passat in shape and size...)?
And why do so many European cars come without signals...? (j/k)
Sorry about the length...
Cheers!

There are only a couple stock audis that can do that, an RS4 or RS6, right now your more likely to see an RS6 on the road. (But the new RS4's will be on the road soon). Twin Turbo 4.2 liter V8 making 450hp stock.
However, they are PIGS. Did you know the RS6 is 500lb heavier than a Base model Audi A8? Why doesnt Audi use a full aluminum frame on the A6 like they do the A8?
But they do fly on the higway.

Stage 3 B5 S4 would have no problem running you.. around 450 wheel hp and tq. basically RS4 components with a new map. Theres a video on street fire of a stage 3 B5 walking a blown S2K.
