So..
BMW =/= Safe at high speeds
multiple airbags =/= insurance from stupidity
And before all the BMW owners get their panties in a bunch.... this is only a tidbit more towards my thinking that....
because a car handles well at safe speed might work negatively for the BAD BMW drivers out there.
1) a bad driver is a bad driver no matter what the speed or the car
2) a car with better handling may instill a false sense of confidence in a bad driver
3) would a bad driver be as likely to do this sorta thing if they were driving .... say a dodge neon?
true true that it doesn't mean that BMW should start making crappy cars.... or that there isn't always going to be an option for stupid people to buy nice cars... but still...

The worst thing about the SUV trend is that there are so many that eventually people will start racing them. The X5 and especially the new 4.6 are pretty capable which makes it even more tempting. So stupid but we have all done stuff that could have ended the same. The side-swiping means they were way too aggressive.
