M coupe is a nice car... but i still think S handles much better
i drove my friend's M coupe to the canyon few months ago, it's good but not as fun driving the S

No it is not. The M roadster and Z3 both have a 68.5 inch width.
there are several variants of the rear fenders, that can give it a wider/slimer appearance
the 1.9L I4's have basically no flair, hence look smaller
the M's all have the wider/more flared fenders...
the '00-'02 Z3's have wider/humped fenders
& iirc the other 6 cyclinder variants are somewhere in the midle as far as fender flair...

Hello guys... As a previous owner of a z3 3.2L 315hp I can for sure tell that it is much wider than the 1.9L. The body of the M roadster and the 2.8L with 193hp were wider on the back of the car. Not only the tires....
So it could be the 2.8L which has 0-60mph about 6.4 sec.

I've owned two and I was still incorrect:
Outwardly, the increased rear track is covered by rear fenders that flare out almost an inch more at the sides, resulting in a 1.9-in. overall increase in vehicle width.
